To some, carbureting a GM Gen III V8 is a step backward, but many enthusiasts see it as a good alternative for gaining the advantages of an aluminum small block without the hassle of EFI wiring.
GM Performance Parts and Edelbrock offer cast aluminum intake manifolds that allow a carburetor to be installed on small block LS engines. However, without an EFI's ECU, a controller is needed to fire the ignition... MSD designed LS controllers with matching factory connectors for a direct installation, and few connections are needed: cam, crank, and MAP sensors and coils. Both controllers have timing curve mapping using MSD's Pro-Data+ software and programmable 2-step rev limiter, vacuum advance curve, and step retard.
Note: For factory EFI, controllers can stand alone using Adapter Harness #121-8886 (sold separately)
